Overview
The 2027 KTM 250 XC-W is purpose-built for riders tackling technical enduro terrain, combining lightweight two-stroke performance with modern fuel injection and race-developed chassis technology. Powered by a 249cc throttle body injected engine and supported by KTM's lightweight steel frame, WP XACT suspension, and proven PDS rear suspension, the 250 XC-W delivers exceptional traction, agile handling, and predictable power delivery for everything from tight woodland trails to competitive enduro events.
Features
Lightweight 249cc Two-Stroke Engine
The liquid-cooled 249cc single-cylinder engine has been developed to provide a balance of strong low-end torque and responsive top-end performance. Lightweight construction helps improve agility, while the engine's smooth power characteristics make it equally capable in technical sections and faster open terrain. KTM's proven two-stroke design continues to offer the simplicity and reduced maintenance that many enduro riders appreciate.
Electronic Throttle Body Injection
The electronically controlled Throttle Body Injection (TBI) system continuously monitors operating conditions to deliver the correct air and fuel mixture. This provides consistent performance regardless of changes in altitude or weather, improves throttle response, and removes the need for traditional carburettor jetting adjustments.
Lightweight Chrome-Moly Steel Chassis
The central double-cradle 25CrMo4 steel frame has been engineered to provide excellent rider feedback while maintaining stability and predictable handling. Optimised rigidity, revised mass centralisation, and a lightweight aluminium-reinforced polyamide subframe contribute to improved balance and confidence across demanding enduro terrain.
WP XACT Closed-Cartridge Suspension
The suspension package features fully adjustable WP XACT 48 mm closed-cartridge front forks paired with a WP XPLOR PDS rear shock. Riders can make quick adjustments to compression, rebound, and preload without tools, allowing the motorcycle to be easily adapted for changing trail conditions and rider preferences while maintaining excellent traction and control.
Proven PDS Rear Suspension
KTM's Progressive Damping System eliminates the need for rear linkage, reducing maintenance while increasing ground clearance for technical riding. The latest WP XPLOR PDS shock provides improved anti-squat characteristics, helping maximise traction and rear-wheel control over rocks, roots, and steep climbs.
Enduro-Focused Ergonomics
Slim bodywork, a flat high-grip seat, and carefully designed rider contact points allow unrestricted movement throughout the motorcycle. The rider triangle has been developed to improve comfort while standing and sitting, helping riders maintain better control during long days on challenging terrain.
Optimised Airbox and Fuel Tank
The airbox has been designed to maximise airflow while protecting the filter from water and debris. Tool-free air filter access simplifies routine servicing, while the transparent fuel tank makes it easy to monitor fuel levels and provides quick access to the fuel pump and filter when maintenance is required.
Modern Rider Controls
Simple handlebar switchgear includes an integrated electric start and stop switch, with an optional map selection switch available for riders who want to switch between two engine maps. The layout has been designed for easy operation while riding in demanding off-road conditions.
Brembo Hydraulic Clutch and Braking System
A Brembo hydraulic clutch provides light, consistent lever action while automatically compensating for wear. Hydraulic disc brakes deliver strong, progressive stopping performance with excellent feel, allowing riders to maintain confidence in both technical terrain and higher-speed sections.
LED Lighting and READY TO RACE Styling
The 2027 KTM 250 XC-W features KTM's latest READY TO RACE graphics together with a redesigned LED headlight assembly that improves visibility for low-light riding. Slim bodywork, aggressive styling, and premium finishes complete a modern enduro machine designed with both performance and functionality in mind.
